The Gap Medics summer program for American Pre-Health students starts in May 2013!

This is a unique and exciting opportunity for Pre-Health students from colleges across the United States to be part of an amazing global healthcare education project. Students will be based in international hospitals where they will shadow and learn from experienced physicians and observe real healthcare at work in developing communities.

For summer 2013 why not join Gap Medics in Thailand or Tanzania for opportunities in Pre-Medicine, Pre-Nursing, Pre-Midwifery and Pre-Dentistry.

Gap Medics students at Iringa regional hospital If you are you are a Pre-Health student applying to medical school in the near future and want to get real work experience in your subject while enjoying the trip of a lifetime then the Gap Medics program is for you!

Gap Medics placements are designed for and specifically suited to Pre-Health/Med students who are seeking educational and academically beneficial work experience, while currently having little or no existing medical training.

In summer 2013 we are inviting Pre-Health students from colleges across the states to Tanzania or Thailand for a special program of 2 to 6 week work experience placements where weekdays are spent immersed in a working hospital environment, assisting and learning from professional physicians as they go about their usual consultations, treatments and surgeries in the hospital.

Several times a week you will attend clinical tuition seminars presented by experienced physicians and covering a variety of subject areas.

Evenings and weekends are time to get to know your fellow students and enjoy the outstanding facilities at the Gap Medics house where our team of staff are on site 24 hours a day to ensure you have all the support and guidance you need.

You will enjoy experiencing the local culture and seeing the sites; even joining activities such as wildlife safari expeditions in Tanzania or elephant trekking in the exotic jungles of northern Thailand.

A Gap Medics work placement will show you real world experience of life as a medical professional giving Pre-Health students an opportunity to develop clinical and observational experience; a huge advantage in future studies!

The program provides an opportunity for personal and professional development in healthcare; increasing skills, knowledge and confidence while enjoying a truly inspirational travel experience!
