Hospital doctor shadowing & global health experience programs.
When it’s cold back home, the weather in Thailand is just right! Mid-range temperatures and little precipitation make the December/January period a great time to explore this destination. On our two-week pre-med program, you can get your feet wet in medicine this winter without trudging through the snow.
If you’re looking to spice up your college or med school application, this is a fantastic opportunity to gain hospital experience alongside students with similar ambitions. Each week, you’ll receive a dedicated physician mentor who will explain cases, answer your questions, and guide your experience in the hospital wards and operating rooms. With a variety of specialty departments at our disposal, we’re able to provide a wealth of observational experience to aspiring doctors in areas like surgery, internal medicine, pediatrics, and OB/GYN.
While you’re abroad, you’ll stay at the beautiful Gap Medics house. There, you will also participate in Global Health Tutorials. These teaching sessions address the ethical and practical dilemmas faced by doctors in Thailand and touch on vital issues like malaria prevention and universal healthcare.
On the weekend, you’ll have the option to join us for the Hill Tribe Adventure. Meet the local tribespeople, ride elephants, and go ziplining and white water rafting—the jungles of Northern Thailand are yours to traverse. So what are you waiting for? Thailand awaits you.
