Gap Medics students ready to observe surgery in Tanzania!Gap Medics is pleased to announce that, in addition to our individual internship programs, we are now facilitating faculty-led pre-health programs for colleges and universities. Based out of our tried-and-true destinations in Iringa, Tanzania, our programs can be tailored toward your institution’s global health curriculum and offer a host of benefits for up to 76 aspiring health professionals and pre-health faculty. Featuring professional mentorship in our partner hospitals, a wealth of clinical shadowing hours, and large spaces for classroom-style lectures and labs, we believe that Gap Medics can provide the perfect catalyst to your next faculty-led adventure. In addition to excellent pre-medical experience, students will have the chance to tour sites of natural splendor, immerse themselves in fascinating cultures, and volunteer in underserved communities. Program Features

– AAMC compliant programs for pre-medical, pre-nursing, pre-PA, pre-dental, and pre-midwifery students

– Exclusive accommodations at a fully-staffed Gap Medics house

– 23+ hours per week of observational shadowing in our partner hospitals

– 3x Global Health Tutorials per week, taught by local health professionals

– Use of a large communal area for classroom-style, faculty-led lectures or labs


Program Logistics

– For every 15 students confirmed, one faculty member receives complimentary flights, housing, food, etc.

– Programs run year-round and space can be secured up to three years in advance

– Create a program between one and 12 weeks in length

– Private Gap Medics houses accommodate 28 or 48 persons, with a total capacity of up to 76 across two properties

– In-country support, including program management, catering, housekeeping, and security

– Comprehensive health, safety, and travel insurance coverage

– Access to orphanages for volunteer/mission work

– Organized excursions and safaris

– All students will have access to “My Gap Medics,” a comprehensive online trip planner

– Partner travel agencies available to support group airfare bookings
