Shadowing a Doctor

Stand pic

If you want to talk to Gap Medics about our work placements abroad then be sure to catch up with the team at the events we are attending in September.

This is always a busy month as schools and universities get back into action with lots of careers events and fairs across the UK which we will be attending.

On top of our usual college and school events, we will be in London twice this month for two public events which you can attend.

If you are considering a broad range of medical career choices then we will be at Medlink’s Medical Sciences Exhibition at Kensington Town Hall on Thursday, September 24.

The exhibition is aimed at all aspiring medics – nurses, midwives, doctors, dentists, pharmacists, paramedics and other specialists and therapists. It is free to attend and the first thousand even get a free stethoscope! More details from their website –

You can check out scores of admissions tutors from different universities, and of course talk to us about our hospital placements. You can book as an individual or persuade your teacher to take the whole class!

If you just want to find out how to get into medical school then we are also at Imperial College on Sunday, September 20, for the School of Medicine’s Vision Senior Conference. It is organised by the medical students themselves for year 13 students who plan to apply to UCAS in October.

They are ready to give you hints and tips on how to write your personal statement, mock interview preparation, a tutorial on how to get through the BMAT test plus they will answer your questions about the UKCAT. If you are interested in tickets for the event check out details here –

We will be at the exhibition ready to answer your questions, and you can pick up a copy of our guide to Medical School or find out about our programmes – there’s still time to book before the medical school interviews start in earnest next January.

They also hold a junior conference later in the year for students in years 10 to 12 and you can see us there too.

If your school, college or organisation would like Gap Medics to attend and talk about our placements then be sure to get in touch – you can call on 0191 603 1111, email us on or if we are on Live Chat talk to us now on the website – the ‘Can we help?’ button is at the bottom right of the page.
