Pre-Med Shadowing

As a pre-med student, shadowing a doctor in his or her day-to-day work can be an important part of your clinical experience portfolio. It demonstrates an interest, and a proactive approach to understanding what a career in medicine is really like.

As our name suggests, this is the heart of what we do, and more than half of the students who apply for our program are on a pre-med track.

The program will give you a minimum of 40 hours clinical shadowing in a hospital, mentored by a medical doctor, and a chance to start building a national – and international – network of like-minded future doctors.

My favourite mentor was Dr. Gonzales. He was always teaching us new information even if it didn’t relate to the surgery that we were watching. He helped us be engaged, active, and focused to everything that happened. I would highly recommend this program to anyone interested in the healthcare. This was my first-time watching surgeries and I felt comfortable with my team and my mentors. This makes me excited for my future and the steps I need to take to get to that future.
